If you, like our Handsome ambassador Tim Robards, train and workout for a living, then your grooming needs are going to be worlds apart from someone who spends their day in an office. In the latest instalment of our Handsome Men at Work series, here's our recommendation to a fitness trainer’s guide to grooming.
Break a sweat
When you earn a crust as a personal trainer, you need to be in prime condition yourself – and when you’re working out once or twice a day, there’s no escaping the issue of sweat. First and foremost, make sure you’re replacing every last drop by drinking copious amounts of water. And secondly, do not even think of entering the gym or client session without first applying some heavy-duty deodorant.
Clean it up
Once you’ve finished your workout or training session, hightail it to the shower with your gym bag essentials. Use an invigorating body wash with a citrus scent to bid adieu to any body odour, and a facial wash that rehydrates and nourishes the skin to fight the fine lines and wrinkles caused by dehydration and physical exertion.
Rinse it out
It’s not just your skin that’ll be smelling less than fresh after a workout… Rinse your hair with a 2 in 1 Shampoo to get rid of any lingering sweat. And while you’re at it, you might want to consider a spot of manscaping. By trimming the hair down there, you’ll help to eliminate any below-the-belt odour problems. Finish with a blast of cold water to close your pores, stop any residual sweating, and bring your heart rate back down.
Be smooth
Because you’re losing all that water via evaporation through your skin, you’re more prone to dry skin, wrinkles and other signs of ageing than your office-dwelling friends.
After you’ve towelled off, apply an anti-ageing facial moisturiser designed specifically for men to help restore some of that lost hydration.
Smell fresh
Finally, before you head out the bathroom door finish with a spritz of a men’s fragrance that’s subtle yet suitably masculine. That way you’ll be turning heads for all the right reasons.
